THE LOCATION
The hotel is close to the designer stores and trendy eateries of Kloof Street in the historic centre. Originally a private estate, the main hotel building was added in 1899.
Walk east to discover Company's Garden, St George's Cathedral and the District Six Museum.
By plane: London Heathrow to Cape Town takes 12 hours, after which, it's a 20-minute drive to the hotel. Free on-site parking available. Book flights to Cape Town.
CHARACTER & STYLE
The hotel is full of history and character - its exterior was painted pink and white to celebrate the end of the First World War. Be sure to ask to see the colonial-era Sherwood Room and Churchill Writing Room. There are contemporary features, with nearly half of guests staying on business.
