THE LOCATION
You're a 30-minute drive from Palermo Airport on Sicily's northwest coast. It's a picturesque spot, overlooking a wide bay encircled by mountains with a marina and shipyards in the foreground. The marina with its bars and restaurants is walkable; the historic Old Town is a 15-minute drive. Parking is available for a fee.
Mondello, with its sandy beach, is a 15-minute drive.
By plane: direct flights to Palermo take 3 hours from London and 3 hours 30 minutes from Edinburgh. The hotel is a 30-minute drive. Parking costs €40 per day. Book flights to Palermo.
CHARACTER & STYLE
This is an impressive, castellated, sand-coloured establishment looking out over the Gulf of Palermo. Original features from the 1900s have survived, including a stunning mirrored ballroom with Art Nouveau woodwork and attractive murals.
